Helpful Hint:

• Double Cylinder deadbolts are typically used when there is glass within 3′ of the door.  A double cylinder prevents someone from breaking the glass and reaching through and opening the deadbolt from the inside.  If you choose a double cylinder, have a plan to exit in case of an emergency – you will need a key to exit the house if the door is locked.
